Valentine Graf Family

Valentine Graf [V] (Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) Born 28 Septmeber 1799. He married Barbra Wagner. They had five children; Philip, Christian H., John, Sette, and Valentine JR. Valentine, Barbara and their family came to the USA in 1853 and settled in Howard Co, Indiana.

Philip Graf [VI] (Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Caroline Schaaf. They had seven children; 1.Emma, 2.Louise, 3.Settie, and four sons that died in infancy.

1.Emma Graf [VII] (Philip, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) She married Nicholas T. Richer. They had three children Philip H., Fred O., and a daughter that died in infancy. They lived in Greentown, Indiana

Philip H. Richer [VIII] (Emma, Philip, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Leoline Osborn. They had one son Don J. Richer.

Fred O. Richer [VIII] (Emma, Philip, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Burcha Lamb. They had two children; Nicholas M. and Phyllis Mae.

2.Louise Graf [VII] (Philip, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) She married Augustus Froelich. They had one son Omen C.

Omen C. Froelich [VIII] (Louise, Philip, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Corintha Hobbs. They had one son Clyde Elbert b. 4 January 1921 d. 10 February 2000 m. living Riley. They had five children

3.Settie Graf [VII] (Philip, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) She married Geo L. Locke. They had three children; Philip R., Elsie and Ruth Geneva, who died as a baby.

Philip R. Locke [VIII] (Settie, Philip, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Peggy Kathleen Hemphill. They lived in Tacaoma, Washington.

Elsie Locke [VIII] (Settie, Philip, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) She married Emmett P. Touby. They had three daughters; Louise, Dorthy and Frances. They lived near Kokomo, Indiana.

Henry Christian Graf [VI] (Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Louise Rhein. They had four sons; 1.Henry V., 2.Lewis F. 3.Charles J., and 4.Philip C.

1.Henry V. Graf [VII] (Christian, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Fannie ?. They had two children; Hugh and Edna.

Edna Graf [VIII] (Henry V, Christian, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) She married Ed Zaehner. They had one daughter Frances J. and lived in Laporte, Indiana.

2.Lewis F. Graf [VII] b. 17 March 1857 d. 24 Feb. 1933(Christian, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Louise Merck b. 29 July 1860 d. 21 Dec. 1943 both are buried at Green Mount Cemetery in Belleville, IL. They had three children. Irma, Elsie and Carl C. They lived in Bellville, Illinois.

Irma Graf [VIII] (Lewis, Christian, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) She married Fred Steingoetter. The had two children; Margaret and Robert G.

Elsie Graf [VIII] b. 22 Feb. 1886 d. 31 Dec. 1972(Lewis, Christian, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) She married Elgin C. Eidman b. 11 March 1885 d. 16 March 1931 both are buried in Green Mount Cemetery, Belleville, IL. The had two daughters; Louise and Helen.

Carl C. Graf [VIII] (Lewis, Christian, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Else Knollhoff.

3.Charles J. Graf [VII] (Christian, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Ida Cassing. They had one son Charles J. Jr he lived in St. Louis, Missouri.

4.Philip Graf [VII] (Christian, Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) unmarried.

John Graf [VI] (Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married (1)Charlotte Collet Notes New York City. They had on daughter Amelia Graf. John then married (2) Margaret Hanks they had nine children; Louise, Ella, Katherine, Fred, Margaret, Frank V. John, William and George.

Frank V. Graf [VII] He married Myrtle Michael. They had six children; Harold (served in the US Army), Kenneth, Ronald, Gilbert, Marshall and Alta. They lived in South Whiley, Indiana 1921

Valentine Graf JR [VI] b. Abt. 1834 in Germany (Valentine, Kaspar, Philip, Caspar, Nickel) He married Wilhelmian Munich 18 January 1861 in St. Clair Co. IL.  Wilhelmina died in St. Clair Co. IL 4 April 1921.  They had four children; Lewis, George, William and Katie E.
